Welcome

Welcome to the Association of Ohio Longrifle Collectors! We are here not only to promote the continuing study of Ohio made muzzle loading rifles, but to educate people about the significance of the rifle to the growth of the Northwest Territory. While here, please enjoy learning about some great Ohio history and if any questions should arise, please don't hesitate to ask.

The Association of Ohio Longrifle Collectors was formed in Feb., 1978 at Marietta, Ohio. Since then, the organization has grown and now has 285 members in fifteen different States in the Union. The Association charter reads in part: "To promote the continuing study of the Ohio made muzzleloading rifle by bringing collectors and interested people closer together; to perpetuate the history of the Ohio made muzzleloading rifle through historical research and the preservation and restoration of the said rifle; to educate the public to the significance and importance of the rifle to the growth and development of the Northwest Territory, particularly through exhibits and publications; to do any and all things of every kind and nature whatsoever, which may be useful, convenient or possible to do in connection with, as part of, incidental to, or supplemental to, any of the above enumerated purposes."
